GROW Groups “Students growing in faith together through discipleship.”
Luke 9:23 Then He said to them: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
Vision
To create an environment where our students feel comfortable to open up, have spiritually relevant conversations, share their life with each other, and encourage each other to live lives that reflect Jesus.
To create deep relationships, both student to student and student to adult, in order to create a spiritual support system to help each other walk in the footsteps of Jesus each day.
To create a passion for God’s word that leads to personal study and devotion through a discipling relationship with adult mentors from the congregation.
GROW Groups are...
Small, age/gender based groups that meet one time per week led by an adult(s).
A positive, welcoming community where students feel safe.
A time of fun, fellowship, and Bible study.
Places for students to lower their walls and open up to each other.
Meant to help the students in their journey of learning to follow Christ.
A great opportunity for students to GROW together in all aspects of their faith!!
I believe that GROW Groups can play a vital role in the spiritual development of each student when they fully commit to their group. The goal of these groups is to allow them to become more comfortable talking to each other about their faith. It is also to help our young people continue to grow closer in an effort to create a strong community of support for our teens. Research shows that students that have 5-7 adult spiritual mentors within the church are far more likely to continue on in the faith when they leave the home. It is my hope that the commitment of our students to these groups will truly help them find the path that leads to Jesus and also empower them to show others that path. As a church we strive to have discipling relationships, and my hope is that these students will not only get discipled, but also will learn how to disciple others.
